Transfer steps
Most transfer problems are caused by locked domains, stale registrant email, or accidental DNS changes.
- Confirm the domain is older than 60 days
- Unlock it
- Copy the EPP code
- Start the transfer order
- Approve registrar emails
- Verify DNS after completion
Downtime prevention
A registrar transfer should not break DNS by itself. Keep nameservers unchanged until the transfer is complete unless you are deliberately moving DNS too.
FAQ
FAQ
Will transfer add a year?
Many standard TLD transfers add one year, but always verify the cart and TLD rules before paying.
Can I transfer an expired domain?
Sometimes, but it depends on the current registrar and TLD state. Renew first if the domain is mission critical.
